Armed ... and Ready!

"You armed me with strength for battle; you humbled my adversaries before me."http://bible.us/Ps18.39.NIV

As wonderful and great as your life may be ~ each day there are a few bumps in the road.  Some bumps are little dips and some may just be huge mountains from where you are sitting.  These "bumps" want to keep you from achieving your goals; they want to create a detour on your path.

So, how do you arm yourself?  If you are a Christian, then you know you can arm yourself with your faith ~ with God.  As David said in Psalms 18:39 "You armed me with strength...".

If you believe in something else ~ or maybe nothing at all ~ how do you keep your spirits up, your morale high, and the desire to keep going every day.

Here are some tips we can all use to arm ourselves from the negativity of the world!

1.  Affirmations.  Say them daily.  Even if you have to use lipstick or a wax pencil to write them on the bathroom mirror.  Or, use post-it notes in the car.  Try adding your favorite song ~ I rock out to Bon Jovi's "It's My Life."

2.  Support system.  Who is your circle of influence?  Do they support you? Build you up? Or, do they tear you down?  Find people who are willing to get on the bus with you! Remember, you are a direct reflection of your peer group!

3.  Consistently live what you believe.  What you believe ~ go out there and live it.  Don't be a part time believer.  If you are Chiristian ~ live your life according to those terms.  If you are Jewish ~ live your life according to those terms.  If you are atheist ~ live your life according to those terms.   (Just a thought here ~ atheists can only exist because God does!)

It is important to be a full-time liver and not a part time believer.  And, when you arm yourself ~ life's bumps and dips are much smaller and easier to just walk around.
